Reiki and Energy Healing: What I Offer in Kelowna and Online

If you have been searching for Reiki in Kelowna because you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stressed, disconnected from yourself, or simply looking for a different kind of support, you may have found my website and wondered why it  appears in my training but is not listed as one of my sessions.

It’s because I trained in it many years ago, and it was an important part of my own development as a practitioner; but my work has evolved considerably since then. I learned to follow my intuitive nudges and over the years have integrated other energy, intuitive and body-based modalities into my client practice.

Today, I offer energy healing in Kelowna and online, integrating BioEnergetic (also called Specialized) Kinesiology Stress Indicator Point System (SIPS), somatic support, and intuitive awareness via the Akashic Records. Reiki is part of my history, but it is not the standalone service I offer today.

What is Reiki?

Woman receiving reiki energy healing

eiki is a complementary energy healing practice that originated in Japan. During a session, a practitioner generally places their hands lightly on or just above the person’s body with the intention of supporting the person’s own healing response.

My experience of Reiki has always been less about trying to make something happen and more about creating a quiet space where a person can settle, receive, and become more aware of themselves.

Reiki is considered a complementary health practice rather than a replacement for medical care or psychotherapy. Research into Reiki has explored areas including anxiety, depression, and pain, but the evidence remains inconsistent and has not clearly established Reiki as an effective treatment for health conditions.

I think it is important to be honest about that because people deserve to know what a complementary practice is and is not.

That being said, I’ve experienced first hand the benefits of Reiki energy and I believe it works even if science hasn’t conclusively proven this yet.

My Experience With Reiki

I trained in Reiki Levels 1 and 2 in 2008. At the time, Reiki was one of the ways I began developing my relationship with energy, intuition, and the subtle ways people experience themselves in their bodies.

It became part of a much larger journey for me as a practitioner. Since then, I’ve continued training in different approaches to energy work, body based support, and nervous system regulation, including BioEnergetic Kinesiology Stress Indicator Point System (SIPS) and Somatic Experiencing.

My understanding of what people need has changed along the way, too.

Why I Don't Offer Reiki as a Standalone Session

I still respect Reiki and what it taught me, but I no longer feel that offering a Reiki session on its own best represents how I work.

Over the years, I became increasingly interested in what happens when we slow down enough to listen to the body and notice the patterns underneath our experiences.

That led me toward SIPS, energy healing, and eventually somatic approaches to nervous system regulation.

I wanted to be able to do more than simply offer someone a space to receive. I wanted to understand what their body was communicating and work with the patterns that were ready to change.

How My Work Evolved

Stress Indicator Point System (SIPS) is now an important part of my energy healing practice.

SIPS uses muscle response testing to help identify patterns of physical, emotional, energetic, and environmental stress that the body may be holding and how to resolve that stress.

My somatic work adds another layer by helping clients notice sensations, emotions, impulses, and unresolved trauma or stress responses in their bodies while staying within their capacity.

The common thread through all of this is learning to listen rather than override. I am less interested in telling your body what it should be doing and more interested in helping you become curious about what is already happening.

What Energy Healing Means in My Practice Today

When I talk about energy healing today, I am talking about a grounded, intuitive approach that works with emotional, energetic, and body based patterns of stress.

Sometimes that means using SIPS to identify a pattern or it means slowing down and noticing what is happening in the body. Sometimes intuitive information becomes part of the session, too.

There isn’t one formula because there isn’t one formula for being human. My energy healing sessions are designed to support greater grounding, clarity, self trust, emotional regulation, and connection with yourself.

You remain an active participant in the process. I am not there to tell you what is wrong with you or what you need to become. We resolve layers of stress and other blocks so that you return to who you are at the core.

How My Work Is Different From Reiki

Reiki and my current energy healing work are both complementary approaches that work with the idea of energy, but the sessions are not the same.

Reiki generally centres around the practitioner offering it within a particular system and practice. My current sessions are more integrative.

I may use BioEnergetic Kinesiology SIPS, somatic awareness, nervous system regulation, intuitive guidance, and energy work within the same session, depending on what is appropriate for the person and what their body is showing us.

That flexibility is important to me because I don’t want to force someone into a particular method simply because that is the method I happen to offer.

Who My Energy Healing Sessions Are For

My energy healing sessions may be a good fit if you are a woman experiencing overwhelm, anxiety, chronic stress, emotional patterns, feeling stuck, or a period of significant change.

You might also be someone who has already done a lot of personal growth work and wants support that brings more attention to the body, not simply more things to think about.

This work can be particularly helpful for women who want greater nervous system awareness, emotional grounding, clarity, self trust, and connection with their own intuition and creativity.

You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. You do need to be willing to participate in your own process. That part matters to me.

If You Found Me Through Reiki

If you found me because you were searching for Reiki in Kelowna, I hope this gives you a clearer picture of where my work has gone since I first trained in Reiki. It was part of my path and it simply isn’t where my practice ends.

Today, my work centres on energy healing, SIPS, and somatic experiencing support for women who want to feel more grounded, connected, and able to move through life with greater self trust.

If that sounds more like what you are looking for, you can learn more about my current approach to energy healing here.

Summary

thisReiki is a complementary energy healing practice that originated in Japan. I trained in Levels 1 and 2 in 2008, but my practice has since evolved toward an integrative approach combining energy healing, BioEnergetic Kinesiology Stress Indicator Point System (SIPS), somatic support, and nervous system regulation. The thread connecting all of this work is the same one that has guided me for years: learning to listen to ourselves rather than constantly trying to fix ourselves.
